SUSAN W. BLUE, Ph.D.

Dr. Blue is a New York State Licensed Psychologist with experience in private practice since 1985 helping children, adolescents and adults. She obtained her B.A. in Psychology from SUNY Binghamton and her M.S. and Ph.D. in Psychology from Florida State University.

Dr. Blue has a special interest in providing prevention services in order to help decrease the likelihood of the development of emotional, relationship and behavioral disorders. Prevention services provided by Dr. Blue include those within her d.b.a. Positive Parenting Program through which she offers consultations in assertiveness, communication, social skill development, behavior management, stress management, effective grand-parenting, step-parenting and co-parenting, divorce adjustment, adjustment to peer pressure and bullying, and adjustment to life transitions, among others.

Dr. Blue provides evidence-based therapy services in order to ensure that patients receive the care shown to be most effective in addressing presenting problems. Dr. Blue enjoys working with children and adolescents with behavioral, emotional, social, learning, family and attention problems, and working with adults with problems of mild to moderate anxiety or depression, bereavement, stress management, chronic disease, parenting stress, attention deficits, and relationship stress.

Dr. Blue respects the confidentiality of the therapeutic process and is pleased to collaborate with others when deemed appropriate for the goals of therapy when signed permission is granted by her patients. Dr. Blue has also been clinical supervisor for doctoral students at Binghamton University. JERRY DUVINSKY, Ph.D.

Dr. Duvinsky is a New York State Licensed Psychologist. He received a B.A. in Psychology from SUNY New Paltz, a Masters from Southern Illinois University, and is Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Binghamton University. He conducted his clinical internship at the Long Beach, California V.A. Medical Center.

Dr. Duvinsky has been in private practice since 1991. He believes that many of people's problems and symptoms are the direct results of their very attempts to avoid and distract themselves from emotions perceived to be dangerous, frightening and overwhelming. Thus, with the help of various integrative dynamic and behavioral based techniques, he helps people to mindfully experience and thereby diminish sources of anxiety and emotional pain. Using these techniques he treats individuals with various pain and anxiety disorders, post-trauma reactions and mood disorders.

Dr. Duvinsky also has extensive training and experience in behavioral medicine and health psychology. He employs various psychological approaches to address a wide variety of medical related conditions ranging from chronic pain, fibromyalgia, headaches, TMJ, hypertension, eating disorders, sleeping disorders, adjusting to chronic physical disease as well as providing wellness enhancing behavior change.

Dr. Duvinsky also has a special interest in sports psychology and enhancing peak performance capabilities. Besides private practice, Dr. Duvinsky is a clinical supervisor for doctoral students at Binghamton University.

JILL KRILOV, M.D. (practicing independently)

Dr. Krilov graduated from New York University School of Medicine, and completed psychiatric residency at St. Vincent's Hospital and Medical Center in NYC.

While currently practicing psychopharmacology only, she has previously practiced therapy as well. She has knowledge of therapeutic issues, and works within and beyond this office. She is comfortable with all diagnoses and works with individuals 18 and above.

Michael Lister, Psy.D.

Dr. Michael Lister is a New York State Licensed Psychologist. He received his B.A. in psychology from Carleton University, and his Master's and Doctorate from Indiana State University. Dr. Lister completed his internship at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia.

Prior to joining Oakdale Psychology Associates, Dr. Lister worked as a clinical training director at an outpatient clinic located near Washington, DC. He approaches his work with a collaborative focus and emphasizes well-researched strategies for enhancing both interpersonal and intrapersonal functioning. Dr. Lister has extensive experience providing cognitive-behavioral and interpersonal counseling to address mood disorders, trauma, as well as difficulties involving unwanted behavior, stress and anger management. He has experience counseling children, adolescents, and adults, as well as performing a broad range of psychodiagnostic assessments and court-ordered evaluations.

Melinda James, Psy.D.

Dr. Melinda James is a New York State licensed psychologist specializing in psychological and psychoeducational evaluations. She received her B.A. in Psychology from St.John Fisher College in Rochester NY, M.S. in Mental Health Counseling from SUNY Albany, and her Doctorate from Chestnut Hill College in Philadelphia. Her internship and post-doctoral training were completed at a private practice in Fayetteville, NC.

Dr. James has a wide varitey of clinical training experiences including inpatient and outpatient treatment centers, a juvenile detention center, and a psychiatric residential treatment facility for adolescent sexual offenders. During her internship and post-doctoral training, Dr. James received specialized training in psychological assessment and diagnostic evaluations for individuals of all ages. Her approach to evaluations includes the incorporation of biological, social, and psychological factors as well as current, relevant research.

Dr. James joins Oakdale Psychology Associates, PLLC as an independent practitioner, providing psychological and psychoeducational evaluations. New patients of all ages are welcome.

Dr. Cheryl Scott-Richard

Dr. Cheryl Scott-Richard is independently licensed to practice psychology in the states of New York and Illinois. She obtained her B.A. in psychology from Lehigh University and earned her M.A. and Psy.D. in Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology.

Dr. Scott-Richard joined Oakdale Psychology Associates PLLC in 2012 following her work as a staff Psychologist and Director of Training at the V.A. Medical Center in Huntington, West Virginia. Throughout her career she has worked in forensic, outpatient community mental health, and hospital settings. She has trained and supervised psychology student for over a decade and is currently a clinical field supervisor for doctoral student at Binghamton University.

She provides evidence-based therapy services to ensure patients receive the most effective treatment in helping them to cope with their presenting problems. She assists people in understanding the thoughts and feeling that impact their behavior. In doing so, she primarily utilizes cognitive-behavioral techniques. She is easy going and interactive, and takes a very collaborative, recovery oriented approach to help people identify and reach their goals. She creates a personal and relaxed treatment environment to help patients make positive changes. People are resilient and capable, but at times everybody needs to improve their quality of life and reach their potential. Dr. Scott-Richard enjoys working with adults struggling to cope with a variety of presenting problems including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, and adjustment to various life transitions. She has a special interest in working with military families. She participated in multiple national training initiatives through the V.A. system including Cognitive Processing Therapy to treat symptoms of trauma. She has a special interest in helping people cope with mood symptoms stemming from a variety of traumatic stressors including physical and sexual abuse, military combat trauma, and natural disaster.

Dr. K. Kenderish, Psy.D. (Practicing Independently, Licensed Psychologist)

Dr. Bergstresser obtained her B.A. from Canisius College in Buffalo, NY and earned her M.A. and Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from Marywood University in Scranton, PA. She completed her doctoral internship and postdoctoral residency at Lehigh University's Counseling and Psychological Services Center in Bethlehem, PA.

Dr. Bergstresser is known for her warm, relaxed, and engaging relational style. She enjoys working with individuals from diverse backgrounds and recognizes the importance of multicultural factors in shaping how one interacts with and experiences the world. Dr. Bergstresser is a generalist therapist with expertise in working with a number of therapeutic concerns including life transition and adjustment, relationship concerns, anxiety, depression, and stress management. She has a special affinity for working with the college age population.

Dr. Bergstresser emphasizes the significance of the therapeutic relationship in the process of change. Her approach to therapy is an integrative one, drawing from Interpersonal, Cognitive-Behavioral, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) frameworks. She also regularly incorporates mindfulness and present focus into her work with clients, She recognizes that distress is a normal part of life and works collaboratively to help clients learn to live and fulfilling meaningful life despite their challenges.

Dr. Bergstresser enjoys working with and welcomes new clients from late adolescence through adulthood.

Jennifer F. Dovin, LCSW-R

Jennifer F. Dovin is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (psychotherapist), experienced in both the public and private mental health sectors. She obtained her BSW and MSW from Marywood College in Scranton, PA.

Jennifer has been practicing as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker since 1995. She currently provides outpatient mental health services to veterans of all ages, specializing in the treatment of military trauma. She has also worked extensively with sexual assault and sexual abuse victims. She has many years of experience in treating most mental and behavioral health issues.

Jennifer is trained in several evidence-based therapy protocols including cognitive behavioral therapy, cognitive process therapy, motivational interviewing and psychodynamic therapy. She has treated patients of all ages throughout her 20 year career with a special emphasis on trauma recovery.

Jennifer respects each individual and tailors treatment to best meet their needs using a strength-based approach. She has clinically supervised other social workers who are training for licensure in New York state. Jennifer welcomes new patients to her practice.
